THINGS TO SEE AND DO

Life’s a Beach
The Myrtle Beach area features more than 60 miles of unspoiled coastline overlooking the sparkling Atlantic Ocean. During the warmer months it’s the perfect playground for fishing, surfing, boating, diving, windsurfing – just about any water sport is available here. And the area’s amazing water parks feature some thrilling water-slides. Too cool for swimming during the winter months? You can take a long walk, gather some seashells and go fly a kite!

Fun-for-All Attractions… Believe It Or Not!
You know Ripley’s? Of the “Believe-It-Or Not” fame? Mr. Ripley was a real person, believe it or not… an eccentric adventurer and cartoonist whose world travels resulted in the many oddities chronicled and displayed in the many franchise attractions around the world. And some are found right in Myrtle Beach. The Believe-It-Or Not Odditorium features the largest collection of the odd and unusual from all corners of the world, like a genuine shrunken head and a 6-legged cow. Ripley’s Haunted Adventure is a multi-million dollar haunted house featuring live actors, animatronics and bone chilling special effects year-round. Ripley’s Enchanted Mirror Maze is one of the most exciting and unique attractions that the entire family can enjoy…with infinite reflections in every direction, surprising corners, dead ends and continuous circles. And Ripley’s Aquarium, with over 10,000 exotic sea creatures, houses more fish in the aquarium than there are people living in the entire town of Myrtle Beach!

For History Buffs
The Myrtle Beach area is rife with landmark reminders of her storied historical past. Area architecture features majestic antebellum homes with wrap-around verandahs and “Gone with the Wind” columns. Make your own “lighthouse tour” along the seashore. Visit the Hampton Plantation which commemorates South Carolina’s rice industry after the Civil War where you can tour this impressive Georgian-style estate nestled among huge clumps of moss-laden oak trees and fragrant camellia-filled gardens. Or take a river cruise for a ride along the banks of the low-country waterways lined with statuesque plantations, slave cabins, alligators, eagles and ospreys.

The Bowery
Stop by to get a glimpse of The Bowery – there’s never a dull moment at this Myrtle Beach downtown honky-tonk landmark. Located just 50 yards from the ocean, millions from around the world have been welcomed by their true Southern hospitality. Their house band from 1973 – 1980 was the country super-group Alabama, who still makes live appearances here during the year. It’s also known for their entertaining waiters – according to the Guinness Book, one holds the world-record of carrying 34 mugs of beer at one time, without a tray.

GETTING HERE

Whether arriving by air or car getting to the Branson/Lakes Area is easy to get to. There’s the local Myrtle Beach Airport which I serviced by direct flights from by major carriers with flights from major U.S. cities. Get your GPS ready - by land, it’s an easy drive from the north or the south.
