THINGS TO SEE AND DO

Red Rock Country
These “rocks” are big. And they really are red! They’re absolutely majestic whether you drive or hike in and around the area. Cathedral Rock is aptly named due to its many variegated spires, and towers 1,200 feet over the town – you can grab a breathtaking view from the Village of Old Creek which is part of the Sedona area. Bell Rock boasts a distinctive shape, right out of your favorite Western movie! Courthouse Butte, near to Bell Rock seems to catch on fire when the day winds down to sunset! Hiking truly is the way to go – all trails are well-marked, most paths are very easy to navigate, and there are usually plenty of people around so you won’t the only ones checking out the amazing views! Make sure to take plenty of water and wear proper shoes – hiking around in flip-flops is never a good idea.

Tlaquepaque Arts and Crafts Village
Make sure to spend some time at the world-famous Tlaquepaque (pronounced Tla-keh-pah-keh) Arts & Crafts Village. Nestled on the banks of beautiful Oak Creek, Tlaquepaque is fashioned after an authentic Mexican village with vine-covered stucco walls, cobble-stoned walkways and impressive arched entryways. The name means “best of everything” and it truly is. Originally created as an artists’ community, today it’s a shopper’s paradise with unique shops, boutiques, restaurants and art galleries living in harmony with towering trees and beautiful natural surroundings.

Chapel of the Holy Cross
You don’t have to religious to be wowed and inspired by the spectacular setting of this modern landmark. Built by Marguerite Bruswig Staude (a student of the modern architect Frank Lloyd Wright) who was inspired by the construction of New York’s Empire State Building, this amazing chapel rises between two red-rock peaks with a huge white cross on the building’s façade. The view or the town and surrounding area from up top are absolutely spectacular – this is a definite “must see” when you’re visiting Sedona and environs.

Sedona Shopping
Shopping in Sedona is as varied as the scenery which surrounds the town! You’ll find an abundance of specialty boutiques, art galleries, gift shops, outlet stores and novelty shops for a unique visitor experience. Whether you're browsing through the Tlaquepaque Arts and Crafts Village, Hillside Sedona, West Sedona, or one of the many specialty shops in Uptown Sedona, you'll be amazed at the scope and variety of unique items. Find custom gift baskets, clocks and watches, jewelry, clothing and accessories, hand-crafted furniture, authentic Mexican and Native American fare, unusual collectibles, specialty foods and more.
